Spring Term 2

This term's whole school value is: PERSEVERANCE

We've had a busy week being scientists.

As part of science week we grew bacteria.

First we used a cotton bud to collect a swab of bacteria.
Then we rubbed the cotton bud on a petrie dish.
We left the samples in a warm place overnight and the next day bacteria had grown in the dishes.

We are Storytellers.

We have been using actions to retell the story of Rapunzel.

This is our action for 'if'.
This is our action for 'that'.
This is our action for 'when'.

We have made flapjack.

We took part in an interactive quiz about amazing animals.

Our class dragon called Shadow

We started off the autumn term celebrationg 100 years since Roald Dahl's birth. We created some gloriumptious work based on "The Twits". This swigpill of a book has inspired us to generate some adjectives, similes and to plan some of our own tricks! We have also been discussing whether Mr and Mrs Twit would be a good friend - and what friendship means to us.

We also thought about appreciation.

This term out topic is all about Castles.  The children have already started bringing in their castles which have been made from junk material.  Thank you

We also made a class dragon.  We collected our favourite name by using a tally chart and bar graph.  The name chosen was Shadow.

In Maths we are learning about equivalent fractions and halving numbers.

Thank you to all the parent's who attended our sharing assembly.

We are really looking forward to visiting Warwick Castle on Thursday 9th March.
