St Nicholas Primary School, Marston, Oxford

St Nicholas' School has an active and supportive Parent and Teachers Association called Friends of St. Nicholas' School (FOSNS), which organises a range of social and fundraising events.  All school staff, parents and carers are automatically members of FOSNS and everyone is encouraged to join in.

Our Activities and Events

We carry out a full programme of social and fundraising activities and events throughout the school year, and we're always grateful for any help.  These events include:

In addition we run a weekly organic fruit and vegetable bag scheme, plus a monthly draw.

Where the Money Goes

All the money FOSNS makes goes directly to the school and funds facilities and events that the school could not otherwise provide.  It also goes towards bits and pieces for each class like reward stickers, to make life easier for teachers and more fun for the children.  

During the last few years some of the items FOSNS has funded include:

• Digital cameras for each class
• Memory cards
• Electronic photo albums
• School lap tops
• Trim trail outdoor play equipment

Each year we also give money to Santa to buy a Christmas present for each child at the school, and fund things like ice-cream for school leavers at the end of each school year.  All the funds FOSNS raises helps make the school a more fun place to be - something which will benefit ALL children at the school.

Come and Join Us

A FOSNS Committee is elected each year and meetings are held approximately once a term.  Our meetings are relaxed and good fun with a strong social feel, but somehow everything still gets done!  Everyone is welcome to attend and you don't need to be on the FOSNS Committee to help, so please do get in touch or come along.

Helping with events is also a great way to be more involved with your child's school, to meet other parents and to get to know those involved with the school in a fun and relaxed setting.  FOSNS meetings and events are advertised throughout the school, including on the notice board at the main entrance and in the newsletter.

We're always interested in new ideas, so if you have any or you'd llike to help, or you'd like to come to one of our events - please email any of the committee members or look out for us at school.
